$8,000–$11,000
For 10 vinyl windows, including labour and materials, before applicable taxes.
Home Depot Canada publishes this illustrative Ontario example on its Brantford installation page. It is a useful starting reference for a multi-window project, not a measured Brantford market average or a quote from our partner network.
Your window sizes, products, installation method and surrounding work can change the total. Avoid dividing a multi-window example into a guaranteed price for a single window.

Why a single “price per window” falls short.
A small, accessible replacement and a larger opening with new trim can involve very different work. A total without the product specification and installation scope gives you little basis for comparing contractors.
This referral site does not set installation prices. Ask the contractor for a written project quote after they have confirmed measurements, the chosen product and site conditions. If a price is preliminary, ask which assumptions could change it.
First, compare the installation method.
Insert / retrofit
A replacement unit is fitted within an existing frame. Discuss whether the frame’s condition makes this suitable, how the finished glass area changes and which existing finishes remain.
Full-frame / complete tear-out
The window and frame are removed. Ask what new interior and exterior finishing is included, and how the contractor handles any damage exposed around the opening.
These methods are not interchangeable line items. If two quotes propose different approaches, ask each contractor to explain the reason before comparing the price alone.
What can change your project’s cost?
The window specification.
Record the count, dimensions, operating style, frame finish and glass selection. A fixed picture window and an opening style do different jobs, and a custom configuration should be described clearly.
The surrounding work.
Ask whether the price includes removal, disposal, interior trim, exterior finishing and cleanup. If you want a larger opening or a bay configuration, the quote should identify the additional work. Basement projects may bring a separate discussion about the foundation, well and room use.
Access and existing conditions.
Explain any difficult access and visible issues before the visit. Ask how unforeseen work is documented and approved, rather than assuming every possible repair is part of the initial figure.
Payment, warranty and timing.
Get the total and taxes in writing. Compare the deposit and payment schedule, product warranty, installation warranty, exclusions and who to contact for service. Ask what the proposed schedule depends on; an enquiry is not an installation booking.
Does replacing a window need a permit?
Brantford lists replacement without increasing the existing opening under work that does not require a building permit. Enlarging an opening is listed as permit work. Confirm your particular project with the City before work begins; the published lists are not exhaustive.
For a designated heritage property, check heritage approvals separately. The City’s register distinguishes designated properties from other listed properties; the age of a house alone does not establish its status.
Check your scope with Brantford’s permit guidance and heritage planning and register. Ask who will obtain any required approvals and how that work is priced.
Eight things to get in writing.
Use this while reviewing a quote. Your selections stay in this page and are not sent with an enquiry.

Check rebates before counting on savings.
If incentives are part of your budget, check the required assessment sequence and qualifying work before ordering. Our window energy-efficiency and rebate guide links the current program requirements. Keep an unapproved rebate separate from the amount payable to the contractor.
Start the conversation without guessing the details.
Tell us your postal code and the kind of project you are considering. We can pass your request to our partner contractor network so you can discuss measurements, suitable options and a quote. You decide whether to move forward after reviewing the contractor’s terms.
